The Kitchen Remodeling Guide
What a kitchen remodel really costs in DFW, how long it takes, and how to get the parts you cannot see right.
A kitchen remodel is the project homeowners think about most and understand least. It is where the biggest decisions, like layout, cabinets, and counters, run straight into the biggest surprises, like old plumbing, undersized wiring, and a wall that turns out to be holding up the second floor.
This guide pulls together what a kitchen costs in DFW, how long it takes, the choices that swing the budget, and where projects go sideways, drawn from kitchens we have built across the metro. None of it is a sales pitch. The point is that you can plan your kitchen with your eyes open, whether or not you ever call us.

How much does a kitchen remodel cost in DFW?
Most land between $30,000 and $80,000. A cosmetic refresh can be less, and a large, high-end gut can run past $100,000. Size, how far you go, and the materials you pick are the three biggest levers.
How long does a kitchen remodel take?
Usually 6 to 20 weeks from the first design meeting to the last punch-list item. Custom cabinet lead times and moving walls are what stretch it.
Should I replace or reface my cabinets?
Reface if the boxes are solid and the layout already works. Replace if you are changing the layout or the boxes are failing. Refacing is cheaper, but it cannot fix a bad plan.
Do I have to move out during a kitchen remodel?
No, most people stay. We set up a temporary kitchen area and seal off the work zone, though the middle weeks are genuinely inconvenient.
What is the most common surprise?
Plumbing and electrical that is not up to code once the walls open, especially in homes built before the 1990s. We carry a contingency for it and show you what we find before we touch it.
