The Bathroom Remodeling Guide
Costs, timelines, and the waterproofing details that decide whether your bathroom lasts five years or twenty-five.
A bathroom is a small room with a lot going on. Plumbing, waterproofing, tile, and ventilation are all packed into a few square feet, which is exactly why a bathroom that looks finished can fail in five years if the part you cannot see was done wrong.
This guide covers what a bathroom remodel costs in DFW, how long it takes, the choices worth making, and the waterproofing and prep work that actually determines whether it holds up. It is written from bathrooms we have built here, not from a keyword tool.

How much does a bathroom remodel cost in DFW?
A guest bath often runs $8,000 to $20,000, a standard full bath $12,000 to $30,000, and a primary or luxury bath $30,000 to $60,000 or more. Tile choices and moving fixtures move the number the most.
How long does a bathroom remodel take?
Usually 2 to 6 weeks for a standard bath, longer if you are relocating plumbing or waiting on custom tile. Small does not always mean fast.
Why does waterproofing matter so much?
Because it is the one thing you never see and cannot easily fix later. Done right behind the tile, it protects the framing for decades. Done wrong, it shows up as rot and mold in a few years.
Should I convert my tub to a shower?
Often yes for a primary bath you actually use, but keep at least one tub in the house for resale. We can walk through the trade-off for your specific layout.
Can I use the bathroom during the remodel?
Not that one. If it is your only bathroom, we sequence the work to shorten the days it is fully out of service, but plan for a stretch without it.
